Understand the warning

A Scary Pop-Up Does Not Prove an Infection.

A web page can display a fake virus alert or pretend your computer is locked. Other problems involve unwanted apps, browser extensions, or malware installed on the computer. The right next step depends on what happened, whether you installed anything, and whether someone was given remote access.

Do not call a number shown in a warning or give an unexpected caller remote access. Contact a team you already know using its established phone number. Tell us if you installed software, shared account details, or allowed someone to connect.

What We Can Assess.

Unwanted Apps & Browser Changes

Unexpected advertising, changed search settings, unfamiliar extensions, and repeated redirects can have different causes. We review the affected computer and discuss removing unwanted software or correcting browser settings where appropriate.

Suspected Malware Infection

We assess security alerts and other symptoms, discuss scanning and cleanup options, and review the condition of the operating system. Some situations may call for reinstallation or a different recovery approach rather than a simple cleanup.

After a Remote-Access Scam

Tell us what the other person could access and which software was installed. We can help review the computer and discuss account-protection steps. Changing passwords from a separate trusted device may be necessary; cleaning a computer alone does not secure an account.

A Small-Business Computer at Risk

Contact your existing IT provider promptly if a work device may be compromised. Tell us whether shared files, email, or other computers are involved so we can discuss an appropriate scope. A routine cleanup is not a substitute for a full incident-response investigation.

From assessment to prevention

How We Approach Cleanup.

  1. 1. Explain What Happened

Share the alerts, downloads, recent changes, and any remote access you allowed. Tell us about work accounts and important files.

  2. 2. Discuss the Recovery Options

We assess the situation and explain suitable cleanup or reinstallation options, applicable charges, and data limitations before approved work.

  3. 3. Review Ongoing Care

We discuss updates, protection settings, account precautions, and home or business support plans suited to your computers.

Home Support Plans

Keep routine computer care on a plan, with protection, update management, and technical support options. Higher tiers add benefits such as backups and included support time. Compare the current device coverage, allowances, and service terms.

Business IT Support Plans

Give your small business a regular source of help for workstations, email, printers, and networks. Business plans list workstation management separately from labor options. We will discuss your devices, existing IT arrangements, and support needs.

You can also ask for help with a one-time issue. A plan does not mean every repair, part, or cleanup is included; we will discuss the applicable scope and charges.

Common questions

Virus Removal Questions.

Is every pop-up a virus?

No. Fake warnings can be displayed by a website, and unwanted browser notifications or apps can produce other alerts. We assess the symptoms rather than treating every pop-up or slow computer as an infection.

Can you remove malware remotely?

Some issues can be investigated remotely if the computer starts and has a reliable internet connection. The severity, software involved, and condition of the system determine whether remote help is appropriate or hands-on service is needed.

Will removing malware recover my files?

Not necessarily. Cleanup does not guarantee recovery of damaged or encrypted files, restore stolen information, or reverse account access. Recovery options depend on the problem and the backups available.

Does a support plan include every cleanup?

No. Coverage, included support time, device limits, and additional charges depend on the plan. We will discuss the work needed and the applicable terms before proceeding.

Can protection software prevent every scam or infection?

No product or support plan prevents every threat. Updates, appropriate protection, careful handling of downloads, and account security all matter. We can help review these as part of ongoing computer care.

What if the problem is a slow computer rather than malware?

Slowdowns and crashes can also involve software, storage, memory, or hardware faults. Our computer repair service can assess those issues and help you compare repair, upgrade, or replacement options.
